Urgent Eye Care

Dr. Steiner is an expert in the care of common injuries to the eyes. Whether these injuries occur at home or at work, rapid pain relief and restored vision are our concerns. We reserve time in our daily schedule for those requiring urgent care.

Diabetes in the Eye

Among the common ailments that affect our eyes, diabetes is the most threatening. We carefully monitor the back of your eyes for changes that result from diabetes. Our state-of-the-art technology produces images of the very delicate blood vessels and retinal nerve fibers without the need for dilation eye drops.

Macular Degeneration

One of the more frightening realities we all face is the threat of age-related loss of sight.  The ophthalmologist’s examination can provide an accurate prediction of your likelihood of later onset of macular degeneration. Our Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) produces three dimensional microscopic images of the retina without the use of dilating eye drops. This routine examination is invaluable for detecting the different types of macular degeneration, and for directing the appropriate treatment to reverse these changes before surgery becomes necessary.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a painless medical condition that is treated by ophthalmologists. It causes painless progressive loss of vision. The loss of vision from glaucoma is very slow and imperceptible, and often begins while we are young. A routine examination by an ophthalmologist will assess your risk of glaucoma. A wide range of treatment options are available.

Cataracts

We never rush patients to have cataract surgery before it is truly needed; at which time we work with only the most highly regarded cataract surgeons to assure that your visual recovery is rapid and uncomplicated.

In the right hands, cataract surgery is painless and rewarding; taking less than fifteen minutes and resulting in rapid and magnificent improvement of vision.

Light Flashes and Floaters

The sudden onset of light flashes or floating spots in our vision is terribly upsetting. When this occurs, it is urgent to visit an ophthalmologist. If not treated quickly, the problems that lead to light flashes or floating spots could cause detachment of the retina and devastating loss of vision.
